Anybody know how you could use an SNES controller on a PSX, besides using a
PSX controller and wiring all the buttons together?

No. Not without having knowledge of how the Playstation controller
communicates with the Playstation. Even then, you'd have to use a PIC or
similar and program it up to be an interface.

Out of interest, why do you want to do this? Have you got a SNES emulator
for your PS1/PS2?

You've got me thinking now....

There's an item coming out soon called "Retrocade" or such for the PS/X and
PS/2. PS/1. I saw it in a catalog from Gamestop. It looks/feels identical to
a SNES controller, complete with thumb d-pad.
